Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria is the southernmost of the Canary Islands, with an area of nearly 1560 square kilometers, the island is the third largest of the Canary Islands. Gran Canaria's largest industry is tourism. It is mainly charter tourists visiting Gran Canaria. The island's traditional attractions are sunshine and beaches. In recent years it has become more and more established golf courses and there are now seven 18-hole courses on the island. The destinations of Gran Canaria nightlife is Playa del Inglés and Puerto Rico. Both are located on the south coast of the island. Here there are hundreds of bars, nightclubs and restaurants.
The large dunes that stretches from Playa del Ingles to the lighthouse of Maspalomas is one of the most photographed images of Gran Canaria. Here you can wander for hours, or find a private little oasis for frying under the sun.
People of all ages, families, singles, couples, groups of friends, retirees or people in training camp visit Gran Canaria. Yes, pretty much everyone has at least one thing in common and that is they want to go somewhere that is more or less assured of sunshine and pleasant temperatures. When in addition to the climate with over 320 days of sunshine and an average of over 25 degrees, also has many beautiful beaches, great mountains and a lot of nice scenery, it is not surprising that the island has been a top destination for tourism. There's also plenty activities to choose from such as surfing, deep sea fishing, hiking, biking, tennis, diving, sailing, golf, water skiing and many other activities.
Hotels are available in all price ranges and types of standard and there are also many who rent private holiday homes
